Growth

We’ve grown our human resources to meet the increased demand of both candidate applications and delivering on new initiatives. We continue to build our capability to match the increasing service demands and expectations of our service users and key stakeholders. This growth has also established greater organisational depth in terms of core capability and will allow us to continue to invest in our digital assets and improve our candidate and stakeholder experiences.

Candidate support

Since July 2022, the APC experienced a more than 200% increase in applications compared the last year. This increase has not hampered our ability to meet this demand, and we continue to process applications in a timely manner and increase examination capacity. APC’s operations have increased to meet this demand and processes been further streamlined to manage the high demand, allowing us to continue to process applications within the 8 week timeframe.

We’ve continued to deliver on the Commonwealth Government skilled migration incentives programs to support overseas trained pharmacists to work in Australia. As part of Pilot 2 APC processed 43 applications in 2022-23

Finance

Our annual financial result was positive and will provide a great basis for our investment in more effective operations and delivering an increased support for our candidates.

The Australian Pharmacy Council acknowledges Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of country throughout Australia. We recognise their continuing connection to land, sea, and community. We pay our respects to them and their cultures, and to Elders, past, present and emerging.
